This Thursday, the Premier League confirmed that five substitutions will be allowed from next season. That is something Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp spoke about and he had positive comments to say about it.
"It's great news for football and for the players. We've spoken about it. This will allow us to help the footballers because of the intensity there is in the matches," the German boss said.
The rule was brought in for Project Restart back in summer 2020 to cope with the packed schedule.
However, the rule was dropped for the 2020-21 season despite other leagues keeping it. Lawmakers IFAB have made the five subs rule a permanent (but not mandatory) change and now the Premier League has followed suit.
