Girona are lowering their wages. The measure is now official. The club explained through their official channels that all the employees agreed on a voluntary wage cut to face the coronavirus crisis. The most affected are those that earn the most in the club.
"Ruling out the furlough, the reduction will be between 15% and 3% for the staff, first-team coaching staff and club management, and 3% for other employees and members of the football base", the club statement on their website said.
The percentage to be deducted from the salary of the staff and coaching staff will depend on whether and how the league resumes. Thus, we will have to assume a greater drop if the championship is not played or is played behind closed doors.
The reduction is less in normal employees as they earn less in comparison to players and managers. In any case, with this decision, the entire structure has been saved from a furlough.
