Bad news for Liverpool. Alisson Becker will miss Liverpool's crucial Champions League last 16 second leg clash with Atletico Madrid due to injury.
Jurgen Klopp confirmed that the goalkeeper picked up the injury in training before the FA Cup last 16 tie with Chelsea on Tuesday and a scan has confirmed the worst. He will also sit out this Saturday's Premier League clash with Bournemouth and is a doubt for the Merseyside derby on Monday 16th March. In any case, "after the international break he is back 100 per cent."
"Muscle, slight, in the hip region," Klopp said when asked to give more details on the injury. The Brazilian was not due to play in the FA Cup fixture anyway, but the scan has dealt Liverpool a major blow.
Alisson has been ruled out of the Atletico clash while Jordan Henderson is looking to try and be fit for it. Klopp's side are 1-0 down from the first leg and must score at Anfield to have any chance of making the quarter-finals.
