Alisson Becker was one of the star players of last season. He won the Champions League at Liverpool and then lifted the Copa America. In that tournament, he was not as influential.
Winning titles and his reliability in goal could lead to him being a candidate to win the Ballon D'or, but he knows that it is almost impossible.
"I have read some news stories and I am proud, but I know it's not easy. It is even more difficult for a goalkeeper," he began in a chat with 'Marca'.
"I have calm. This means that I am doing my job well and people value it," he insisted. He also gave his view on why goalkeepers struggle to win the award: "The difference is that the goalkeeper does not score goals. He prevents them and people like celebrating goals. It is the most important moment in football. I think for that reasons strikers are favoured a bit.
Alisson admitted it would be an honour to win the trophy, but assured he was not thinking about it because he knows it is difficult.
The goalkeeper recalled the tie against Barcelona because of how difficult it was to fight back, but his highlight was the save he made to deny Milik of Napoli in the final group game: "It's difficult to choose one moment, but I think the most important one for me was against Napoli at Anfield when I saved Milik's shot in the closing stages of the group stage game."
The Liverpool shot stopper explained that he still has a lot to improve on and that capacity of overcoming difficulties makes him want to keep playing.
