Alexander-Arnold unlikely to play in Carabao Cup final, says Liverpool's Slot

The 26-year-old right-back picked up the injury after going for a slide on Vitinha but landing awkwardly. After receiving treatment by the medics on the pitch, Trent Alexander-Arnold was subbed off for Jarell Quansah in the 73rd minute of the game at Anfield.
Ibrahima Konate was also forced off in the second half of extra time, with Wataru Endo coming on to replace him, but Slot played down any concerns about the Frenchman. "I have to ask, but for me Ibou (Konate) was more that he was tired than it was an injury."
Speaking after Tuesday night's Champions League exit against PSG, the Liverpool head coach added: "With Trent, he had to come off. That’s never a good sign." Alexander-Arnold is now set to undergo a scan on his ankle to determine the extent of the damage.
But Slot hinted that Alexander-Arnold's chances to be available for Sunday’s Carabao Cup final against Newcastle were slim. “From what I heard from people that saw the images or how he got injured, that didn’t look very good. So I would be surprised if he is available for Sunday.”
The full-back's loss would be a real blow for the Reds, who are already without second-choice right-back Conor Bradley due to injury. Traditional centre-back Quansah could therefore feature at the right-back at Wembley after seeing out Tuesday’s tie at Anfield in that position.
