The Belgian defender had a difficult season last year, after spending most of it on the sidelines with injury problems that meant that he only made 21 appearances in all competitions.
This, coupled with a stalemate over the renewal of his contract meant that it looked like the Belgian would be leaving Spurs this summer, with interest from a variety of big-name clubs such as Manchester United.
When asked whether he would stay with the club, Alderweireld replied:
"Yeah, why not?
"I have two years left on my contract. I don't know what is going to happen."
The Belgian defender also believes that England, a team he knows well following his years playing in the Premier League, will have a good tournament in Russia.
"I know most of the players. They have the right mentality to go far now. They have quality and desire, players with a good attitude."
