Ten Hag's Ajax shone in Europe last season and they are set to lose many players in summer 2020. The Dutch side will let their stars leave.
"Last year we made verbal agreements with Onana, Tagliafico and Van de Beek for them to stay for another season. We promised them that we would then help them to move on to the next stage in their careeers," Edwin van der Sar, Ajax's sporting director, told 'Reuters'.
In this way, the Dutch side will not stop the players leaving. "Nothing has changed in this regard," Van der Sar continued. The former United goalie also issued a warning to other clubs: "They won't be sold with a 50% discounts. Clubs who are interested can forget about that discount."
Van der Sar explained that "last January, people" were saying that we were going to lose "seven or eight players." "In the end we only lost two key players," he added.
Despite transfer fees taking a hit this summer due to the coronavirus crisis, Van der Sar believes that some Ajax players "are still worth a lot. They've got experience in winning and playing in Europe."
Van de Beek is one of the Eredivisie sides biggest stars. He is currently on holiday and Real Madrid and Man Utd are the two teams in the best position to get hold of the attacker.
Onana has got the eye of Real Madrid's rivals Barcelona. The Catalans could try and re-sign a keeper they had back in the age group categories.
Tagliafico could also move to Barca although he has been offered to PSG after the more than probable departure of Kurzawa at left back.
