Ajax's revenue is higher than ever before
No one can deny that the revenue in football has considerably grown in recent years. The prizes to be earned in victories, advertising and player sales promote a buoyant economy in the best clubs.
The accounts presented by Ajax for the 2018-19 season are the best in their history. And all this is due both to their good performances in the Champions League and to the transfers of men like De Jong and De Ligt.
According to their 'The Swiss Ramble', Ajax received 77.9 million euros from UEFA. Taxes discounted, the final amount was 52 million euros, including transfers.
The total profit, according to the accounts, was 106 million euros, while the net profit from player sales went from 39 to 73 million euros.
It should also be noted that spending on players' salaries has increased over the previous year. Despite the departure of important men, Ajax still have most of last campaign's team, which means some of them are earning more.
