A historical chapter could be written this year in continental football. Both Barcelona and Ajax depend on themselves to achieve it. Few matches separate them from it.
On the one hand, Barcelona, which has the La Liga practically in their pocket, is in the semifinals of the Champions League and will play the final of the Copa del Rey against Valencia at the end of May.
Their first domestic title could come next week. The first option is to win on Tuesday in Mendizorroza and Atlético Madrid lose the next day to Valencia.
If that does not happen, a similar combination over the weekend when they play against Levante could make them champions.
The league title is more complicated for Ajax, who have eleven goals more than PSV, but is tied on points with three rounds remaining.
As for the Cup, the Dutch will play it on May 5th, in the middle of the Champions League playoff against Willem II.
There could be a curious circumstance: if Valverde's team eliminates Liverpool and Ten Hag's does the same with Tottenham, they could play the UCL final and determine the outcome of the treble that same night at the Wanda Metropolitan.
