It was one way traffic at Hillsborough. Manchester City put their foot down and are fighting on all possible fronts with the exception of the Premier League.
After winning the Carabao Cup just three days ago, Pep Guardiola's men sealed their place in the FA Cup quarter-finals with a goal from Sergio Aguero.
'Kun' was the man who made the difference again in the match. Wildsmith had kept Man City at bay on multiple occasions until the 53rd minute. Mendy passed to Aguero and his shot was tipped by the goalkeeper into the air, but the ball then spun into the goal. The keeper was very unlucky not only with the bounce of the ball, but also because Aguero was offside. With no VAR in play, the Owls were left to rue their bad luck.
Man City dominated the game from start to finish, but they were not capable of breaking down the Sheffield Wednesday defence largely due to the goalkeeper.

Garry Monk's men did not have a shot on target during the entire match and in fact, they just had one effort all game. That was in the sixth minute when Murphy fired wide of the goal. Claudio Bravo had an easy night between the City sticks throughout the 90 minutes.
The Sheffield Wednesday game plan had worked perfectly until the controversial goal in the 53rd minute and there was no sign of them fighting back after that.
Wednesday had to throw everyone forward, but they were unable to put Guardiola's men under any kind of pressure. Guardiola's men took another step towards winning the FA Cup and they travel to Newcastle United in the next round.
The home side were well beaten on Wednesday evening and now they can look ahead to the rest of the Championship season and try and make the play-offs. They are currently eight points off sixth spot.
