Argentina's Sergio Aguero, a former Atletico Madrid and Barcelona player who played for Manchester City between 2011 and 2021, has been inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame.
Aguero, who announced his retirement in December when he was at Barcelona due to a heart problem, made 275 appearances for the English side, scoring 184 goals. He won the Premiership five times, the Super Cup three times, the League Cup six times and the Cup once.
"Thank you very much to the Premier League for this recognition. It makes me proud. Being inducted into the Hall of Fame gives me a real perspective on the path that has led me here. I am thrilled and I want to share this honour with my club and all my team-mates," said the former Argentina striker.
Joining Aguero in the Hall of Fame are Paul Scholes, Belgium's Vincent Kompany, Ivory Coast's Didier Drogba, Ian Wright and Denmark's Peter Schmeichel.
