Irene Lozano, president of the Spanish sports council (CSD), Luis Rubiales of the Spanish FA (RFEF) and Javier Tebas of LaLiga had a meeting for more than eight hours which ended positively and with an agreement on how to complete the La Liga season.
That is what the CSD announced in a statement this Sunday, one day after the meeting which celebrates the agreement reached.
"Yesterday (Saturday 18th), a meeting between the CSD, RFEF and LaLiga was held at the Palacio de Viana (Madrid) to discuss the situation which COVID-19 has caused on Spanish football and sport in general.
The participants - Irene Lozano, Luis Rubiales and Javier Tebas - have spoken for more than eight hours openly and honestly.
An initial agreement has been reached, which covers the main aspects which affect Spanish football in the context of the health crisis.
The CSD wants to especially thank La Liga and the RFEF for their generosity and desire to reach agreements as well as continuing to work in the short, medium and long term to desire the future of Spanish football after the pandemic. Also thank the Foreign Ministry, European Union and the Spanish agency for International Development Cooperation for hosting this important meeting."
