Real Sociedad are worried about keeping hold of Alexander Isak. The Swedish striker has dazzled so far at the European Championships, meaning the Basque club could be faced with a host of multi-million pound offers for their star man this summer.
Borussia Dortmund are no longer an issue for Sociedad, as 'El Diario Vasco' writes that the Spanish club reached an agreement with their German counterparts to terminate the buy-back option of 30 million euros for the player.
The Basque club are now focused on the player's release clause - currently valued at 70 million euros - as they try to convince the player to accept a contract extension until 2028 with an improvement on the conditions of his previous deal.
At the moment, Isak is contracted until 2024, something that wouldn't be able to stop his agents from presenting an offer from one of Europe's big clubs, especially from the Premier League, that would be able to afford the 70-million fee.
The good thing to come out of this for Real Sociedad is that the clause with Dortmund has been terminated. The bad news, however, is that he continues to shine at the Euros, winning man of the match in the game against Slovakia. If Isak continues in this manner, clubs of the stature of Arsenal, Man City and Liverpool could be knocking on their door to try and pry him away.
