Adebayor to leave Istanbul Basaksehir
"We are grateful to Adebayor, for his contribution to our club and we wish him every success in his career," says the official note from Instanbul Basaksehir, as they bid farewell to Emmanuel Adebayor.
At 35, he is left without a team after a three-year spell in Turkey. In three years, the Togolese international has played 76 games and scored 28 goals. In the last year they qualified for the Champions League as second.
Adebayor, who played with Robinho and Arda Turan, will have to look for a team if he wants to continue his prolific career, having previously played in the Premier League for Manchester City, Tottenham and Arsenal and for Real Madrid in La Liga.
In his time at at these various top level clubs, he has splayed 638 official matches and scored 226 goals.
