Gonzalo Higuain was left out of the 'Rossoneri' squad that beat Genoa 2-0 in Serie A on Monday, the most clear cut sign yet that he is on the verge of a switch to Premier League club Chelsea. In fact, manager Gennaro Gattuso even admitted himself that the striker has decided upon a move to West London.
However, Milan's assistant manager Luigi Ricco has since confirmed that the move is yet to be finalised. In an interview with Italian news outlet 'Gazetta', Ricco stated: "As for the transfer market we are all grown-ups, we know how to deal with these situations. It has been in the air for a few days. But we will work with the players at our disposal."
Higuain's transfer to Chelsea is thought to be being halted by negotiations between Milan and Genoa forward Kryzyzstof Piatek, who the side wish to use as a replacement for the departing Argentine. 'Sky Italy' have reported that the two clubs will meet on Tuesday to complete the deal for Piatek, expected to be worth in excess of £30 milllion, which will then allow Higuain leave.
