Abde turns down Morocco and AFCON so he can play for Spain

Ez Abde is one of the in form footballers at Barcelona. After his great perofmrnaces for the first team, the player is now hogging the headlines because of his international future. He has both Moroccan and Spanish naionality. 

In fact, Morocco has called him up for the African Cup of Nations which begins in January 2022, but it looks like they will end up disappointed.

According to 'Marca', Abde sent a letter to the Moroccan FA on Thursday in which he expressed his refusal to play for Morocco and expressed his desire to play for Spain. 

Therefore, the Barca player will not be at the African Cup of Nations and he will not miss several Barca matches in January. The news comes after Morocco coach Vahid Halilhodzic slammed the Catalan side.

"Barcelona are being the problem with Abde. They don't respect the African Cup of Nations, just like the rest of the big clubs in Europe and FIFA," he told 'Sportklub'. 

In the same interview, the coach said that he hoped to count on Abde from Monday 3rd January, but the footballer's letter to the Moroccan FA seems to have frustrated their plans.
