Real Madrid has regained its smile. Zinedine Zidane's side, after a shock elimination in the Copa del Rey by Leganes, stormed to a convincing 4-1 win over Valencia at the Mestalla in which Ronaldo scored a brace.
It is because of this recent performance that Florentino Perez is reportedly set to offer the Portugal international a payrise in July.
If their claims are accurate, it would mean that Ronaldo would be set to earn an extra €9m a year to bring his total annual salary to €30m, which is around the same figure that both Neymar and Messi receive from their respective teams.
'Los Blancos' apparently want to transmit total confidence in their star player, who has struggled this season along with the club, scoring only eight goals in La Liga so far.
Ronaldo will want to add to that tally when his side take on Levante in the league on Saturday evening, with coach Zidane looking toward the Portuguese forward and his Welsh team-mate Gareth Bale to carry the side in the second-half of the campaign.
