Frenkie De Jong signed for Barcelona from Ajax in the summer of 2019. He arrived as one of the most eagerly awaited signings and responded by participating in 37 official matches, scoring twice, and offering 3 assists.
In order to be able to get the promising Dutchman, Barcelona paid Ajax a whopping 75 million euros, plus another 11 in variables, a figure that Barcelona will have to pay back little by little.
In fact, according to 'Algemenn Dagbald', the Catalan side have reportedly now proceeded to pay a part of that additional money, a total of 2.3 million euros.
The contract of the 23-year-old Dutchman with Barca runs out in the summer of 2024. Barce are very excited about everything that De Jong can offer the team next season, after completing his adjustment period at the club.
