FT: Japan 0-2 England!! England win here and top the group thanks to two goals from White, both of them against the run of play. Japan played well in the first 15 minutes and last 15, but England's clinical finishing won the day. Scotland collapsed in terrible fashion and are now out, but Argentina have a tiny chance of progressing. Thanks for joining us and see you again soon!
  • 95'
It's getting rough in the Argentina game and only 70 seconds extra were added on were 3-4 minutes were wasted and Scotland are out as it has finished 3-3. The Scottish players are fuming as the time wasn't added on. They've thrown away a three goal lead.
  • 94'
It's all over in the England game! England win 2-0 and very little happened in injury time.
  • 93'
The second penalty is shot down the middle and is scored!!!! Extraordinary scenes in the other game!
  • 92'
It's a woeful penalty and it's saved! The rebound is blocked and Scotland survive!! But there's VAR and the GK went off her line!!! Penalty retaken and yellow to GK!
  • 91'
Argentina would have a small chance of progressing if they score, Scotland would be out if it's scored. The Argentinians can't even look.
  • 90'
    Four added minutes here.
  • 89'
Penalty to Argentina! As Japan miss a chance now.
  • 88'
VAR in the Argentina game for a possible penalty to Argentina. It looks it and that would be curtains for Scotland if it's given. She's taking a long look at it. Argentina need the goal to get a chance.
  • 86'
Iwabuchi scoops the ball and shoots wide of Bardsley's goal!! That was a powerful effort.
  • 84 '
England score again! White scores after being played in by Carney and shooting from just inside the box to the right of the GK. Yamashita can't reach with her outstretched arm. Once again against the run of play.
  • 83 '
England sub: Duggan off, Parris on.
  • 82'
Sugasawa!! Sameshima puts in a beautiful ball into the box, Sugasawa gets her foot on it, but it just goes wide. What a difference Sugasawa has made! England are suffering now.
  • 78'
It's gpne 3-2 in the other game after a brilliant goal and a bit of fortune off the crossbar! Scotland's goal difference is taking a hit. Bad news for them and Argentina may been in with half a shout if they can get a draw.
  • 78'
Sugasawa hits the ball over! She chests down a pass in front of Houghton before hitting over the bar on the half-volley.
  • 77'
Iwabuchi makes a nice run, but her shot is poor. Well wide.
  • 75'

  • 74 '
England sub: Stanway off, Carney on.
  • 73'
England lose the ball on the edge of their own box and Sugasawa shoots at the goalie. Japan picking up a bit now.
  • 72 '
England sub: Walsh leaves the pitch and Moore comes on.
  • 69'
Cuthbert makes it 3-0 for Scotland. Scotland now have 3pts and +1 goal difference. Every goal helps to see if they can get a best third.
  • 69'
Long ball forward by Japan is left alone by Bardsley.
  • 66'
Excellent defence by Houghton as Sugasawa had the ball in the box.
  • 65'
Neither team seems particularly bothered about scoring a goal here, not even Japan. It seems like they are resigned to finishing second.
  • 64'
Stanway has a go from distance, but Yamashita lets it go by.
  • 61 '
Japan double sub: Yokoyama and Kobayashi make way and Miura and Sugasawa come on. Yokoyama has been Japan's biggest threat so that's rather surprising.
  • 59'
What a save to deny England! Bronze puts in a lovely ball into the box and Duggan hits a fine shot down to Yamashita's left. The Japanese GK is up to the task though.
  • 57'
Japan shoot now, but it is wayward. Not even worth calling a chance. Ended up closer to the corner flag.
  • 55'
There has been very little goalmouth action so far in the second period. England seem content with the 1-0 lead as 1-0 and 1-1 are the same for them while England are keeping Japan at bay.
  • 52'
Iwabuchi makes a nice run down the near side, but she is stopped in her tracks by a defender.
  • 49'
Beattie makes it 2-0 to Scotland in the other game and now Argentina have no chance of qualifying. Japan are still in second with 4pts and Scotland in 3rd with 3pts, but need to keep scoring to boost their goal difference.
  • 48'
Stanway wins a corner after a well worked move ends with her shot being deflected.
  • 47'
Scott sends in a dangerous looking ball from this near side, the ball in touches a sliding defender (Kumagai) before Ichise clears the danger.
  • 46'
    England get us going again!
  • 45'
Welcome back everyone! We about to resume this one.
  • 45'
HT: Japan 0-1 England!! Japan dominated the opening 15 minutes and Yokoyama threatened the English goal on two occasions including a shot which hit the bar, but since White's goal on the 14th minute mark, England have had it under control. England could have added to their tally in the 15 minutes after the goal, but the tempo of the game has dropped in the 10 minutes before half-time. Join us in the 10 for the rest of this one!
  • 45'
Ball into the box looks for Daly, but Daly is penalised for barging into Ichise.
  • 45'
    One extra minute.
  • 43'
England are passing the ball in their own half now.
  • 41'

  • 39'
The last few minutes have mainly been played in the midfield. Not much been happening.
  • 36'
England have been the better team since the goal. Yamashita has made a few tremendous saves.
  • 35'
Duggan hits wide from the corner.
  • 34'
Yamashita again!! A very long punt forward finds Daly in the D, she takes a couple of touches before firing before shooting. Yamashita punches it over the bar.
  • 31'
Nakajima takes a free-kick short and Yokoyama shoots straight at the goalie.
  • 29'
Japan seem to have shaken off the shock of falling behind.
  • 28'
Shimizu puts a cross into the box, but it's straight forward for Bardsley.
  • 26'
Japan win a corner. It comes to nothing though as a free-kick to England is given.
  • 24'
White heads wide of the target now.
  • 22'
Argentina could draw and go through with two points but only if Cameroon v NZ and Chile v Thailand both end in draws.
  • 21'
Scotland have gone in front in the other game, but they would have to wait and see whether that is enough. Argentina really need a win I would imagine.
  • 19'
And again!!!! Duggan plays the corner to Stanway just outside the D who smacks with her right foot, but Yamashita makes another tremendous save.
  • 18'
Save!!!! Scott shoots from 25 yards after Duggan passes her the ball, the ball swerves and Yamashita has to dive down to her right to tip it for a corner.
  • 16'
That's a big goal because Japan now need two to top the group.
  • 15 '
England score!!!! White! Against the run of play, but England won't care. Stanway makes a great move to turn past the defender, she plays it in for White, the GK comes out, but Whites slots it past her. Ichise tries her best, but she can't reach it before it crosses the line.

Japan win the toss after calling correctly that it would be blue not green and will have first possession.
  • PRVW
The players make their way out here!
  • PRVW
Japan on the other hand, make just one alteration. Sugasawa drops to the bench and Kobayashi replaces her.
  • PRVW
It's a much changed squad for England with only Bronze, Houghton and Scott keeping their places from the Argentina game.
  • PRVW
England will be looking to take revenge on Japan after meeting in the semi-finals of this tournament four years ago. That game in Edmonton was 1-1 and heading into extra-time when Laura Bassett turned a cross into her own goal in the dying seconds of regulation to cruelly knock England out. Japan were then torn apart in the final by the USA.
  • PRVW
This match is being played in Nice and the referee is Claudia Umpierrez of Uruguay while the main VAR is Carlos del Cerro Grande from Spain. The Uruguayan took charge of the tournament opener in which France thumped South Korea 4-0.
  • PRVW
Both these teams beat Scotland 2-1 and England also won 1-0 v Argentina despite an amazing Correa in goal. Japan meanwhile, were held to a goalless draw.
  • PRVW
Both teams are already through and England are guaranteed a top two spot. The winners of this group will most probably face China in the last 16 while the runners-up will most likely have to play Holland. If Japan lose and Argentina beat Scotland and one of the two is by more than one goal, Japan would drop into third. They would then have to play Germany in the last 16.
  • PRVW
England XI: Bardsley (GK); Stokes, Bright, Houghton, Bronze; Stanway, Walsh, Scott; Duggan, White and Daly.
  • PRVW
The teams are in! Japan XI: Yamashita (GK); Sameshima, Ichise, Kumagai, Shimizu; Endo, Sugita, Nakajima, Kobayashi; Iwabuchi and Yokoyama.
