The players are on the pitch, as they hold a minute's silence for those lost to the coronavirus pandemic.
  • PRVW
It's been raining today at Stamford Bridge, the temperature a mild 18º.
  • PRVW
Jonathan Moss will be in charge of today's action, with Kevin Friend on VAR duties.
  • PRVW
Looking ahead to the match, Chelsea have won their last seven Premier League meetings with Palace, and 16 of their last 20 overall. However, Patrick Vieira was never on the losing side of the Blues as a player in the Premier League. Can he break Palace's losing streak as their new boss?
  • PRVW
Usual suspects Ayew and Zaha start in the offensive line, which is led by Frenchman Jean-Philippe Mateta, on loan from Mainz. Benteke will be waiting to make an impact from the bench if and when needed.
  • PRVW
Looking at Palace's starting XI, ex-Chelsea youngster Guehi starts in RCB alongside Kouyate, as other new centre-back Andersen has to settle for a place on the bench. The experienced trio of Riedewald-McArthur-Schlupp make up a three-man midfield.
  • PRVW
New number 8 Kovacic joins Jorginho in midfield, as Kante isn't in the matchday squad. Tuchel elects a front three of Pulisic-Werner-Mount, meaning Havertz has to settle for a spot on a bench which also features Abraham, as the striker nears a move away from the club. Lukaku's debut will have to wait until Arsenal at the earliest.
  • PRVW
Taking a look at the teams, academy graduate Chalobah retains his place from pre-season and the Super Cup final, starting ahead of Zouma and Thiago Silva at the back. Azpilicueta starts at wing-back, not as part of the back three, meaning James starts on the bench. Alonso is preferred to Emerson and Chilwell at LWB.
  • PRVW
Palace bench: Butland (GK), Andersen, Kelly, Clyne, Hannam, Banks, Rat-Sakyi, Street, Benteke
  • PRVW
Chelsea bench: Kepa (GK), Chilwell, Zouma, James, Thiago Silva, Emerson, Havertz, Hudson-Odoi, Abraham
  • PRVW
Palace XI: Guaita (GK); Ward, Guehi, Kouyate, Mitchell; Riedewald, McArthur, Schlupp; Ayew, Mateta, Zaha
  • PRVW
Chelsea XI: Mendy (GK); Chalobah, Christensen, Rudiger; Azpilicueta, Jorginho, Kovacic, Alonso; Pulisic, Mount, Werner
  • PRVW
Team news is in, let's take a look at the starting line-ups!
  • PRVW
Chelsea will certainly provide the Frenchman with a stern first test in his career at the Eagles, although they could well capitalise on any lingering fatigue from the Blues' 120 minutes of football in mid-week.
  • PRVW
Palace have had a considerably longer preparation to get players up to speed, as Patrick Vieira takes the reins following the end of Roy Hodgson's considerable tenure at the club.
  • PRVW
Chelsea arrive to this one off the back of a narrow victory on penalties over Villarreal on Wednesday in which they were crowned champions of the UEFA Super Cup.
