Wilson has not featured for the Cherries since suffering his second cruciate knee ligament injury in the space of 15 months in January.
Bournemouth have scored just four goals in their first seven Premier League games this season, but Wilson is hopeful he will be available for Eddie Howe's side soon, after he played for the U21s and had a goal ruled out for offside.
"It felt good to be out there, strong, confident. On another day they go in," Wilson told 'Sky Sports'.
"Hopefully I'll be back in the first team soon."
The striker played 65 minutes of the 3-2 win in the Premier League Cup against Norwich, and he says the thoughts of a third injury recurrence are not concerning him, but he is not rushing his comeback.
"It feels fine, it's not even in my mind," Wilson told Bournemouth's official website. "I know it's strong, I've done all my testing and everything says it's stronger than last time.
"I didn't even think about it, I just thought about playing well and focus on the pitch.
"This time round I feel a lot better, last time I think I rushed myself back a little bit . I took longer this time and I think I've benefited from that."
