Riquelme spoke to 'FOX Sports' to analyse Boca Juniors' current situation and the latest statements made by Maradona and Tevez.
'I know Tevez since I was a child, I can only say he is a good lad. We were not teammates at Boca, I wish him all the best. I hope he is enjoying his time where he is. I was lucky enough to have many teammates, with some I got along better than with others, but we were fine. If people are fond of me it must be because we did a good job on the pitch', he said about the Argentine striker, who recently ticked the playmaker off in an interview.
Riquelme called upon his titles to defend himself: 'If the club has 6 Copa Libertadores and my teammates helped me win three, I think I have not harmed this team that much'.
He opted not to speak about Maradona, with whom he does not have a relationship. 'When Maradona speaks I change the channel, I don't care what he has to say. My friends also know that they cannot speak to me about him. I do not care what he says or does', he concluded.
