The Blues have struggled in recent weeks having only picked up one point in their last three games, and Conte would have ideally had his captain fit for selection.
However, the former Juventus manager confirmed that John Terry would spend more time on the sidelines ahead of their match against Hull City at the KCOM Stadium on Saturday.
"No he isn't available because he wasn't recovered from his injury of his ankle," Conte said in a news conference.
"I think we can see him after the international break".
Terry has been unavailable since Chelsea's 2-2 draw with Swansea, with the Blues losing both of their Premier League matches without their skipper this season.
