Barcelona's goalkeeper number one Claudio Bravo left the Spanish club this summer after two seasons and joined Manchester City. Marc Andre ter Stegen replaced the 33-year-old and Barcelona will do everything in order to keep him.
The German joined Barca in 2014 from Borussia Monchengladbach and was Barca's number two but became their favourite goalkeeper since Bravo left.
His agent said his client would like to sign a new contract as he became the club's first choice. He told 'Diari Ara': "He wanted to play more and there was interest in him from some big clubs.
"Barca said that there was no way they would let him go, though, and we accepted that", he said. Therefore they'll be willing to give him whatever he wants.
"Now Marc's in the position which he himself had set as his target, starting in the league and in Europe. He can see himself renewing his contract with Barc", he said.
Barcelona started negotiations with other players who will sign a new contract like Suarez and Messi. Is Ter Stegen also on their list?
