Signing Standard Liege's 24-year-old forward Ishak Belfodil has become Everton's top priority in the January transfer window, the BBC reports.

Everton have already approached the Belgian club for the Algerian international, who carries a price tag of £10.5m.

Belfodil joined Liege in the summer after playing for a number of clubs despite his young age.

The Algerian came up the ranks at Lyon as a teenager and then suited up for Bologna, Parma, Inter Livorno and Baniyas, a club in the United Arab Emirates.

Meanwhile Frenchman Morgan Schneiderlin is set to become Everton's second signing since the arrival of manager Roland Koeman as he is undergoing a medical on Wednesday.

Everton's first addition was Ademola Lookman, who joined from Charlton for a fee of £11m.
