Just days after booking their place in the Champions League final, Atletico Madrid have been dealt a huge blow in the La Liga title race as they lose to bottom of the table Levante.
Despite taking an early lead through the in-form Fernando Torres at Estadi Ciutat de Valencia, Atletico left the game empty-handed as Victor Cadasesus equalised in the 30th minute before Giuseppe Rossi came off the bench to score a last-minute winner for the hosts.
It took Simeone's side just two minutes to find the back of the net after a lovely run of play saw Koke play the ball in behind Levante's defence to find Fernando Torres who proceeded to dink the ball over Levante's Diego Marino.
After a disappointing season which has already confirmed the club's relegation, Levante were determined to give their fans something to cheer about and put pressure on Atletico. They managed to find an equaliser just after the half-hour mark when Victor Casadesus was able to steer an impressive header past Jan Oblak.
The second half saw both sides squander chances to take the lead, and even the in-form Griezman who was substitued on at half-time could not make an impact.
Levante ended up getting the all important winner in the dying stages of the game. As Atletico pressed forward in search of a crucial late winner to keep their title bid alive, they were dealt a massive blow when the hosts managed to break and find Rossi with just the goalkeeper to beat.
Rossi had enough time to pick his spot and ruin Atletico Madrid's chances of La Liga glory. The result puts Barcelona even more firmly in the driving seat to pick up the title this season.
