Life is good for West Brom right now, as on Monday night theyfought their way back against Hull and clinched a 3-1 win that lifted them to eighth place on the Premier League table. To make things even better for Tony Pulis, the club has money to spend in the January transfer window and the manager can afford to bolster his squad in the coming days. West Brom will nonetheless be very cautious, Pulis has explained.
"We have to try and maintain this and also bring a couple of players in," the manager told 'Sky Sports'. "We're working hard behind the scenes to bring a couple of players in. I've been here nearly two years and the club has improved, but it has been slow.
"That's what happens at clubs like this. We're not going to throw a load of money away and do something stupid which puts the club at risk - we're going to do it within the budget."
West Brom already made an offer of £18m for Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, which has however been turned down. They are expected to come back with a second offer in the coming days.
"There's money there from the summer which we didn't spend. And we have to spend it right," Pulis said.
"The players we want are difficult to attract to our football club, but we're doing our best. It's important that we try and bring in quality rather than quantity."
