The Ivory Coast international, 23, was trialled at the Paris Criminal Court after after being involved in an altercation last 30 May with a police officer in the early hours of the morning upon leaving a night club.
According to the police officers, the player failed to pull over when asked by the police who therefore had to be threatened to do so.
When out of the car, the footballer behaved violently toward the policemen and attacked one of them. The officer had to take a day's leave because of the injuries suffered in the attack.
The player denies the facts, and said that he did touch the officer but this was because he [the officer] attacked Aurier in the first place.
Judges were not convinced by this theory and found the player guilty of the offence, although the penalty imposed is less than the maximum sentence for attacking a police officer which can be up to three years in prison and a fine of €45,000.
