Manchester City kept possession of the ball from 88:53 to 91:09, a crucial period in which the hosts were compelled to drive forward in search of an equaliser. De Bruyne, Sterling and Bernardo Silva did not let that happen, frustrating their opponents and home fans alike.
In that period of time, City forced throw-ins, corners and free-kicks, keeping the ball down by the corner flag. On the touchline, Jose Mourinho grew restless, as did Ashley Young, who was eventually booked for a rash tackle on Sterling.
United could not get the ball, before de Bruyne finally fired into the stands. A rather out-of-sorts passage of play from the Citizens, proving it's not all just about the the brilliant displays.
