Writing in 'The Stoke Sentinel' former England international Mike Pejic launched a scathing attack on Chelsea defender Gary Cahill, proclaiming him to be "one of the worst defenders in a one-v-one situation that he has ever seen" and that Chelsea boss Antonio Conte deserves Cahill's Premier League winners medal for spotting that he would be exposed playing in a back four.
The former Stoke man said that Cahill "gets so easily exposed" and that "it was him as much as David Luiz that needed the protection of a three-man defence in that Chelsea rearguard last season." He concluded that "Antonio Conte deserves a medal for spotting so quicky that Cahill and Luiz need such protection."
