Pat McGibbon only won one game out of eight during his spell as interim manager, however, this has not put off Portadown.
McGibbon has been bought on a temporary basis following Ronnie McFall's resignation on March 5.
The club's statement read, "The Board have been very impressed with Pat's approach and feel that he is best placed to bring the club forward.
"Pat recently took over the position in a caretaker capacity, in what was a very difficult position for the club,"
