It was thought that Nasri would be surplus to requirements at Manchster City after returning to pre-season 'overweight' according to Pep Guardiola. Until Sunday, Nasri did not feature in any of Manchester City's opening games and it seemed to be only a matter of time before the player left.
Nasri returned to the fold at Manchester City at the weekend and looked lively when he came on, leading to Guardiola saying that the player could stay.
"It depends on the player but he can play. Samir arrived overweight but after one week, 10 days, it was fantastic how he trained, how he competes," Guardiola said.
The former Bayernm Munich and Barcelona boss then said that he thought the player was on "another level".
"His quality is on another level but it depends on him. If [he] wants to help us, wants to stay, wants to be part of something, it depends on him, not me," he added.
However, despite Guardiola's admiration for the midfielder, Nasri is still expected to leave Manchester City.
According to 'Goal', a group of delegates from Besiktas will come to England this week and aim to finalise a deal for Nasri.
