Nantes-PSG referee is suspended by the French Football Federation

It was clear that the act carried out by the Nantes-PSG referee was not going to go unpunished, especially considering that Chapron had dismissed Nantes defender Diego Carlos despite himself kicking out at the player after an accidental collision.

 

January 14, 2018

Following the incident, the French Federation has announced that Chapron will be suspended until further notice. As a result of the suspension, Chapron will not be able to officiate his next scheduled game in Ligue 1 between Angers and Troyes. 

 

January 15, 2018

The FFF also indicated the existence of a report sent by the referee in which he tried to correct his error after viewing the images, stating that his fall was totally involuntary.

Chapron will be called before the Disciplinary Committee of the 'Ligue de Football Professionnel' (LFP) in the next few days.
