1899 Hoffenheim boss Julian Nagelsmann has admitted that managing Bayern Munich one day "would make me even happier".
The 30-year-old, speaking to 'Eurosport', made his ambitions clear. "Bayern Munich plays a big role in my dreams."
"I lived in Munich for many years. I come from Landsberg am Lech, not so far from Munich.
"My wife and my kid will also move to Munich shortly. We're building a house there. It's our hometown.
"I'm very happy in life — however Bayern Munich would make me even happier. But it does not mean that my life fortune totally depends on Bayern Munich."
The ambition seems to be echoed by Bayern's board of directors, with Sporting Director Matthias Sammer refusing to rule out his appointment.
"Time will tell. And if everything goes it's usual course we can safely assume that it will happen sometime."
Whilst Italian boss of the Bavarian giants Carlo Ancelotti played down the link, he too said he understood the ambition of Nagelsmann, who became the Bundesliga's youngest ever manager at 28-years-old in 2015.
"I think it's totally normal that one young manager, good manager like Julian has a dream to train a top club,' Ancelotti said.
"Also, he's German, it's absolutely normal and last year I told him that maybe in the future I wish him the best to be the manager of a top club."
