The defensive line is a priority for the Portuguese manager and he believes to have found the perfect candidate for the right-back position. It is PSG defender Serge Aurier who will take over down the right channel at Old Trafford, despite Antonio Valencia putting on some fine perfomances this season.
It seems Mourinho wants a natural right-back as opposed to Valencia, who has always been a winger. The Ivorian defender has played 28 games for PSG this season in all competitions and has not seen eye-to-eye with manager Unai Emery, which could force his exit. There are many suitors for the 24-year-old, and the Parisian club will make sure to ask for big money as his current deal expires in June 2019.
Barcelona had set their sights on the right-back to cover a weak spot of theirs, but according to 'L'Equipe' Manchester United and the player have already initiated talks, and the Red Devils look to have a head start on other interested clubs.
