The young defender has been linked with a move to Luis Enrique's side in recent transfer windows, but has stayed at the French giants.
PSG have seen high profile players such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic and David Luiz leave the club recently, but Emery is confident that Marquinhos will stay, despite a desire to play for Barcelona at some point in his career.
"Barca asked in the summer but he is thankful to PSG who gave him the opportunity to play in a big club," he told Spanish newspaper 'El Pais'.
"He might love to play for Barcelona, but he respects what PSG gave him. That said, he's a complete player".
However, despite praising the young defender's abilities, Emery believes that Marquinhos can improve on his leadership skills.
"He is a top footballer. In addition to his technical qualities, he listens to instructions," he added.
"He is very concentrated and does what you ask of him but he can still improve in terms of leadership".
