City will wear the new kit for the first time in their pre-season clash with European and Spanish champions Real Madrid in Los Angeles tomorrow.
The new number is similar to that of City's league title-winning side of 1967/68. The outfield players will don an all maroon kit with blue stripes on the shirt and socks and the goalkeepers will wear a traditional green kit.

"If the design pays reference to the past, then Nike's Aeroswift technology most certainly gives the kit a truly modern feel" a statement read.
"As the most advanced apparel innovation to date, the Aeroswift kit has engineered knit zones on the shirt, which enhance fit when playing."
"The sides of the kit feature a black stripe with blue underlay that runs the length of the shirt and blue shorts, expanding when in motion to maximise ventilation."
