Luis Enrique said his Barcelona team put in a "complete" display as they picked up a 1-0 win over Athletic Bilbao in Sunday's league opener.
Luis Suarez made the difference for the Catalan side with a goal after Lionel Messi's first-half penalty effort had been saved.
The victory comes just days after Luis Enrique watched his side suffer a 5-1 aggregate defeat to the Basque club in the Supercopa de Espana, and he was much happier with Sunday's win.
"We have started our league campaign with a very high level," he told reporters. "We prevented them from generating any danger.
"We had a very complete game in all areas of the field.
"We generated scoring chances and had to suffer their tight marking."
Sergio Busquets had to be stretchered off and Dani Alves was substituted with a knock, but the coach says neither injury looks serious at the moment.
"Football is a contact sport and injuries are part of the game, but fortunately it seems that neither of them are major concerns."
