The striker missed Liverpool's last two pre-season games against Barcelona and Mainz which could suggest that the 26-year-old is struggling with another injury problem.
However, Liverpool have insisted that there is no new injury and that the forward did not play as a precaution.
Despite this, when asked by 'Sky Sports' if Sturridge would be fit for Liverpool's opening game of the season, Klopp said: "No idea. That's a two-word answer!"
Sturridge has struggled terribly with injuries in the past two seasons, making just 26 Premier League appearances and it looks like he may have to watch his team from the sidelines once again.
