Kiraly became the oldest player ever at a European Championships in June.
His statement on his website:
"I have 40 years and I can no longer perform at the level that the selection deserves, so I decided to stop.
"I'm a perfectionist and I always gave the maximum. I'm satisfied because I gave all my energy. I came to my limit.
"Bernd Storck gave me the right to decide the way forward after the European Championship.
