Joselu faces former employers Stoke City on Saturday, having left the side in the summer for a fresh start at Newcastle.
Since then, the Spaniard has started positively for Newcastle, scoring on his debut in a 3-0 victory for the 'Magpies'.
Speaking to the 'Daily Mail', Joselu admitted that it was Mark Hughes at the root of his decision to leave Stoke for new pastures.
"I had no chance. I scored goals, I played well, but the manager did not give me a run of games."
"[Hughes] is the reason I’m not there. He didn’t trust me. Now I have a manager who does. When I had the offer to come, it was the only place I wanted to be."
