Antoine Griezmann is 'very satisfied' after it was revealed on Thursday that he was going to extend his contract with Atletico Madrid.
The forward signed an extension with the club until 2021 after talks which began in May, with Simeone desperate to keep the Frenchman in the Spanish captial.
Griezmann is over the moon to sign a new contract with El Cholo's side, and hopes that the club can keep other stars so that they can mount a successful assault on both La Liga and the Champions League.
"I'm very satisfied, very happy to keep belonging to this family and this project. I want to improve every year, and the club, the coaches and my team-mates can help me to reach this goal," he revealed after signing the contract.
"The club wants to keep the level as high as possible and we have to give everything to continue growing. I hope we can keep this way and continue with this progression.
"My goal is always to be better than the last season. At the collective level we are looking for doing better than the last year as well.
"It's essential to continue keeping the important players, with the coach. We're lucky to be in this club that wants to improve and reach the top and help us keep growing.
"I can only thank them for all the support they're always giving to the team, and ask them to keep supporting us like they've done until this moment."
