Germany team manager Oliver Bierhoff believes Mario Gotze can now fully focus and make an impact at Euro 2016 after committing his future to Bayern Munich amid interest from Liverpool.
After suffering another injury-hit season, the 23-year-old struggled to hold down a regular place in Guardiola's team, and has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool to work under former coach Jurgen Klopp.
However, earlier this week the Germany international revealed his desire to stay at Bayern, which Bierhoff believes will serve him well ahead of the tournament this summer.
"This is, for me, a very good decision to commit to Bayern as early as possible," Bierhoff toldBild.
"As a result, Mario can settle and gain his focus for the Euros and concentrate completely on it.
"Things with his agent are his personal matter."
Will Gotze perform well for his country this summer, and could he even repeat his heroics from the 2014 World Cup final?
