Bale's new challenge is to be the best he can be. The former Spurs player is looking to start the season on the front foot and become Real's 'leader'.
The 28-year-old told Spanish publication 'Marca' last week that he is at '100%' ahead of the new season. Real's French boss Zinedine Zidane echoed those comments on Saturday when he said that he had never seen Bale in such good shape in pre-season.
With Cristiano Ronaldo still enjoying an extended break following his Confederations Cup exertions, Bale has the chance to show in the upcoming International Champions Cup games that he is capable of being Real's main man as he looks to forget last season's injury-hit campaign.
Bale managed only 17 La Liga starts last season due to a series of injuries but the Welshman is confident that those problems are behind him now as he looks to help Real defend their La Liga and Champions League titles.
With pre-season rapidly drawing to a close Bale is looking forward to getting back to the 'real' work of showing that he can have just as big an impact at the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi on the world stage.
