The 49-year-old admitted using "threatening or abusive words or behaviour" during his 'An Evening With Gazza' show in the English Midlands town of Wolverhampton on November 30 last year.
The language was said to be used in a "joke" that Gascoigne made during the show.
Gascoigne, who lives in Dorset, southwest England, made his plea ahead of a trial at Dudley Magistrates' Court in the West Midlands which was due to start on Monday.
On his way to court, people crowded and waited to have autographs signed by the former Spurs and Lazio midfielder who is widely regarded as one of the most talented English footballers of all-time.
