Just two days after he announced that he would not be renewing his contract with AC Milan, several sides have already been linked with moves for the 18-year-old, including Juventus and Real Madrid. However, sources in Italy are confident that the Italian international will join Real.
One such source is journalist Marco Lollobrigida, who reports on the Italian national team and the U21s. He told 'Marca' that he was in no doubt as to where Donnarumma would end up, saying that if he has rejected a contract at AC, it is because of the interest from Real.
"He's the ideal goalkeeper for Real Madrid. Donnarumma will sign for Real Madrid because it is a great opportunity for him." claimed Lollobrigida, who was not the only journalist to predict the 'keeper's potential move to Spain.
'Sky Sport Italia' journalist Vanesa Leonardi made a similar claim, stating that "he's the ideal goalkeeper for Real. He's young, he has a lot of quality and he has a huge personality".
The stopper sees a move to Real as a much better option than a move to Juventus, where he would start as Buffon's understudy, as he could easily start the season in Madrid as their number one.
