France coach Didier Deschamps has defended his team selection against Republic of Ireland and is adamant he will continue making changes having guiding France to the quarter-finals of Euro 2016.
Antoine Griezmann scored twice in four minutes as hosts France came from behind to claim a 2-1 win over ten-man Republic of Ireland on Sunday.
At half time Deschamps took off N'Golo Kante for Kingsley Coman and changed from a 4-3-3 formation to a 4-2-3-1 system, a decision which seemed to be successful.
However, the 47-year-old has been criticised for not sticking to an establish starting XI and mixing things up throughout the tournament so far, something which the coach promises he will continue to do.
"I don't gamble with my system," he told a news conference.
"I take these decisions based on discussions with my players but when things don't work out it's my fault. I take responsibility for that. Maybe we shouldn't have started this way, who knows?
"My substitutes can always contribute, not just tactically. It's about willpower and determination. We needed to shake things up. In the second half we saw more fluidity."
