Southampton travel to a Crystal Palace side fresh off the sacking of manager Frank de Boer, and captain Steven Davis has warned his team-mates to be wary of a galvanised Palace.
With 'The Eagles' propping up the table, without a point after four matches, manager Frank de Boer has been the casualty of the poor start to the season.
The Dutchman was sacked on Monday morning after a mere 77 days in charge, and Crystal Palace are rumoured to be preparing for the arrival of former England manager Roy Hodgson as his replacement.
Steven Davis, though, has warned his side that the early kick off against 'The Eagles' on Saturday will be even more difficult now, as his team can expect to face a team rejuvenated and freshly motivated.
"Selhurst Park isn't an easy place to go,' Davis told Southampton's official club website.
"We'll be expecting their players, with a new manager potentially coming in, to give their best and try to get themselves out of the position they're in now."
It's been a frustrating start to the season for Southampton too, who have registered only five points from their opening four games, going scoreless in three so far. Davis insists that the team can improve following their first league defeat this season at home to Watford.
"There's a lot of anger and disappointment with the way we played but we need to stick together now," the midfielder said.
"We've got a lot more quality than what we showed against Watford and it's about going out and proving that now."
