Courbis quits as coach of struggling Montpellier

The 62-year-old Courbis had been in his second spell at the club, returning in December 2013 after two years in charge from 2007 and 2009.

"The presidents, Louis and Laurent Nicollin today accepted the resignation of Rolland Courbis," said a club statement.

"They will announce his successor on Sunday, December 27."

Courbis steered Montpellier to seventh place last season but the team are currently 15th in the table, just three points above the relegation places following a recent run of six losses in seven games.
