Inter have moved ahead of Chelsea in the race to sign Lazio's Antonio Candreva, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The stated source claim the Italy international would favour a move to the San Siro over joining his national team coach Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge next season.
The midfielder has expressed a desire to leave Lazio, and the club's president Claudio Lotito is prepared to accept an offer of €18 million upfront plus €2m in bonuses. Before Candreva had expressed his desire to leave, the club had placed a €25m price tag on his head.
Should the 29-year-old continue to impress at Euro 2016 with Italy, other jobs could well join the race to sign him.
